Funding

The Stafford Animal Shelter (HSPC) is a private, non-profit animal shelter that receives no funding from state or federal government sources or national animal welfare groups. Donations from caring animal lovers like you provide the bulk of our funding.

We receive approximately $50,000 in grants each year from foundations. Other sources of revenue include fundraising events such as the annual Fur Ball, our summer Bark in the Park, adoption fees, and sales of pet supplies and gift items.

The Shelter’s annual budget is approximately $300,000.
