Pit Bull X,  white with brown/black spots,  Female,  Adult
OWNER TURN IN: This beautiful girl is sweet as pie. A welcomed destresser at the end of a hard day, Petey knows just how to make a person's heart melt and forget their troubles. She is a great cuddler and loves to give kisses. She will require a moderate amount of exercise and continued training to maintain polite behavior. It is not known if she is house broke but she keeps a clean kennel and will quickly learn if given the opportunity. She will make a fabulous family companion to an active family. She is great with kids but has not been tested with cats.
[Picture] 9/29/2011   [11-1889]   Rook
Shepherd X,  brown/black,  Male,  Adult
STRAY:
Rook was a stray picked up in the Crystal Lake/ Happy's Inn area. There is little, if anything, known about his life before he came to us but here's what we know of him now that we've gotten to know him... Rook is a quick learner. He's a medium - high energy who needs his future forever home to include an active lifestyle where he will receive plenty of exercise. Rook enjoys a good long walk and lots of belly rubs. He gets along with most dogs provided it's a good match. Rook is currently learning basic manners taught by our experienced dog handlers and would flourish with continued training with his future family.
[Picture] 9/29/2011   [11-1888]   Daisy
Great Pyrenees,  white/cream,  Female,  Adult
STRAY:
Daisy was picked up as a stray out in the Crystal Lake and Happy's Inn Area. Little - nothing is known about her life prior to reaching us but what we do know about her is that she is a sweet, loving and lively girl. She gets along well with other dogs and has two kennel mates right now. She loves her walks and spending time with our volunteers and just adores playing with her doggie buddies. As you can tell from her pictures, she is not afraid of getting dirty! She will do well with a family with lots of room for her to run and play and maybe even have a job. She is a higher energy dog so she will need a good amount of exercise.
[Picture] 9/15/2011   [11-1879]   Sis

[Picture] 8/31/2011   [11-1868]   Abby
Shepherd/Heeler X,  black/tan,  Female,  4.5 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Abby is about 4 1/2 yrs old. She is a sweet and loving lady, although she can be weary at first meeting. She is a high energy dog who will do well in a family that can provide her with a job or ALOT of exercise. She loves walks and giving/getting hugs and cuddles. She would prefer a home without other dogs or cats.
[Picture] 8/26/2011   [11-1865]   Amas
Akita X,  cream,  Male,  2 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: This quite, shy guy is sweet and handsome beyond belief. He tends to be the wall flower of the pack so it's preferred that he be the only dog in the family. But with an appropriate match in a home with plenty of love and guidance, he'd do well with another dog. He is a low - medium energy dog and will require daily walks. Our experienced dog handlers are currently working to improve Amas' leash manners. Amas will be a beautiful, loving companion for any family.
[Picture] 6/28/2011   [11-Gweeda]   Gweeda
Staffordshire Terrier/Cattle Dog,  white with brindle spots,  Female,  Adult
OWNER TURN IN: This fun loving girl is quite the charmer. Reserved with new people at first she warms up quickly and will be your new best friend if you toss a ball for her. She loves to run and follow her nose wherever it may take her. Therefore, her future forever home is advised to have a fenced yard. She is very attentive and food motivated so training her should be a breeze. Gweeda is a high energy dog so she will require lots of physical and mental exercise to keep possible bad habits to a minimum. She is good with children but has not been around any under the age of 11. Her future home will need to be cat free. She hasn't been around other dogs in awhile but will do good with a proper match.
[Picture] 1/25/2011   [08-1037]   Scooby
Hound,  red/chestnut/silver,  Male neutered,  12 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Scooby is a delightful 12 year old, with some good years left in him. He is spunky, active, playful, and just works his way around the aches and pains of growing older. He is fully housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He doesn't destroy his bedding or his stuffed toys. He gets along with people and dogs of all ages, but needs a home without cats. The hound in Scooby means he likes to track scents and may accidently wander off without a fenced yard. Scooby would make a great companion for an older couple/person, preferably with grandkids (of any age) to play ball with sometimes. He would love a home where he can lounge on a porch, lie at your feet, and soak up extra attention.
