[Picture] 1/11/2012   [12-0034]   Seth
DMH,  tabby with white,  Male neutered,  9 Mo
OWNER TURN IN: Meet Seth, the cat of chaos! This crazy boy is just young and extremely playful which is how he originally ended up at the shelter. He would make an excellent friend for a child from the ages 9-18. He is rambunctious and goofy but we believe he will settle as he ages. He's just young! Seth is very excited about everything life has to offer and he doesn't hesitate on showing us his excitement. Everything is an adventure in Seth's eyes! Seth does wonderful with other playful felines and would do just fine with a dog companion. Out on PAWSability.
1/10/2012   [12-0030]   Atticus
DSH,  classic grey tabby,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: Ft. Harrison
Atticus is a wise and handsome classic tabby! We rarely see classic tabbies here at the shelter so he is truly one of a kind. Atticus can be extremely timid at first but given the chance he will warm up quickly and love up on every one in sight. He also has a bob tail. He is good with other felines and could adjust to a very quiet and calm feline. Kids would probably be too overwhelming for Mr. Atticus.
[Picture] 1/6/2012   [12-0029]   Horus
DSH/Siamese,  siamese,  Male neutered,  1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: "God of The Sky" Horus loves to race around the highest shelves in the cat room. Hence his name. Horus is a young and playful cat. He isn't much of a cuddler but we believe in the right home as he adds on the years in age he'll become more affectionate. He is great with other playful felines and a playful canine would also suffice. Horus might be too rambunctious for young kids but kids in the 7-18 age range would be perfect. Horus was originally turned into the shelter for not getting along with other cats but we assume that he was just too playful with the other feline. We think he would do fine in another home with other cats. If you think you can keep up with Horus then why don't you come meet him today?
1/6/2012   [12-0019]   Sirona
DLH,  grey,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: This petite gray kitty ended up here after her owner ended up in jail. Sirona was formerly known as "Momma" but we didn't feel like that served her any justice because she is so much more than just another kitty momma. Sirona was the goddess of healing springs and we feel that name is much more fitting. Sirona has a peaceful demeanor and you just can't help it from rubbing off on you. She brings serenity just by entering a room. Sirona is friendly with other cats and could adjust to a dog with a similar peaceful demeanor. Kids might be a little too overwhelming for Sirona.

STRAY: East Valley
"King of Gods" or in this case "King of Felines", Meet Amun! Amun is a very handsome three year old male that wandered himself into a caring citizen's yard and they brought him to the shelter as a stray. Amun is the most HANDSOME cat we've ever seen. He is darker than most lynx points and almost has a caramel color in his coat. He will steal your heart with his deep blue eyes and his quiet soul. He is timid at first but once he gets to know you he can be quite the charmer. Amun is good with other cats and could adjust to a friendly dog if given a chance. Amun would do best in a home with mature kids because of his peaceful demeanor.

OWNER TURN IN: Peaches arrived at the shelter after her owners' landlord said they had too many cats. Peaches is a very beautiful and affectionate feline. They got her from the pet store as a kitten and ended up collecting at least fifteen cats. Peaches is a sweet girl who is very cat friendly and could adjust to a dog. She is completely boxed trained and has lived with kids. Peaches could make a wonderful addition to any home.

OWNER TURN IN: Nika is an EXTREMELY affectionate cat. She will love you up one side and down the other and will be perfectly content in doing so. As I'm writing this Nika is sitting in my lap with her purr motor running like it's her job. Nika is wonderful with other cats and could adjust to a canine companion. With Nikas gentle nature she could make a wonderful kitty addition to a home with kids. Nika is a beautiful gray feline and any home would be lucky to call her theirs! Out on PAWSability.

DSH,  Black and White,  Male neutered,  Kitten
STRAY: Frontage road near Town Pump
Meet Tomkin!
[Picture] 12/17/2011   [11-1986]   Freckles
DSH,  calico,  Female spayed,  6 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: This voluptuous gal came into the shelter at a hefty 11 pounds, sadly this isn't her first time her family has given her up. Freckles is a former resident of LCHS and was adopted out the first time four years ago. She was turned in this last time because a son in the family developed allergies. Her former family reports that she was a very well behaved feline and never had an accident outside of her box. She didn't scratch on furniture and is accustomed to using a scratching post. Freckles likes to sleep in her cat bed but is very playful and loving in a home. They said that she will do great in a home with dogs because she has lived with them before. She also lived with a child and did well. Freckles could possibly adjust to a home with other cats if she had enough room to remove herself from them if need be.

DSH,  brown tabby/white,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
STRAY: Applegate
Cleocatra is a beautiful goddess of a feline. With her elegant face she presents herself with such grace that you can't help but feel that you're in the presence of someone important. Cleocatra or "Cleo" as we like to call her is a rather small feline only weighing about six pounds. She gets along wonderfully with other felines and could possibly adjust to a feline friendly canine. Cleocatra loves being held and could possibly do really well with a family with kids over the toddler stages.
[Picture] 12/6/2011   [11-1928]   Cliff
DSH,  buff orange,  Male neutered,  1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: This handsome cream colored boy was adopted from us as a kitten and after a year it's just not working out in his home. Cliff is extremely loving, affectionate and playful. He could make a very nice cat for a kid over the age of six that could be Cliff's best friend. Cliff is great with other cats and could adjust to a cat friendly canine.
[Picture] 12/1/2011   [11-1915]   Gary
DSH,  black/white,  Male neutered,  3 Yr
STRAY: Buzz Inn Trailer Ct.
Gary arrived at the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. He has this adorable black nose and a very friendly personality. Gary has 11 pounds of fabulous feline for his new family to love. Gary is not fond of being picked up but he appreciates a good stroking every so often. Gary is adjusting well to the other cats and could possibly adjust to a dog. Older kids would be okay.
[Picture] 11/29/2011   [11-1906]   Raja
DSH,  tortoiseshell,  Female spayed,  1 Yr
ABANDONED: Laurel St.
Raja is a very sweet petite feline. She has a very unique raspy meow and loves to talk. Raja is looking for a family that will be for fur-ever since her last family abandoned her. Raja loves being brushed and pet. She also doesn't mind other cats and could adjust to a quiet dog. Raja is young and has at least fifteen more years left in her life she would love for you to join her enjoying every last one of them. Raja can be seen at Petco.
[Picture] 11/25/2011   [11-1884]   Roanne
DSH,  orange,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
STRAY: Prospect
Roanne is a gorgeous orange tabby cat. Roanne is a very intelligent feline who loves to follow people around in the cat room. She is very friendly and affectionate and gets along well with other cats and dogs. Roanne is playful and outgoing and could be an excellent addition to any home.
[Picture] 11/23/2011   [11-1878]   Astro
DSH,  black,  Male neutered,  5 Yr
STRAY: Hayes
This rambunctious feline has the silliest white tufts in his ears but he doesn't let that stop him from showing his perky personality! Astro came in as a stray and was never claimed. He seems to be adjusting well to the other felines in the cat room and I think with the right amount of time he would probably do just fine with dogs and older kids. Out on PAWSability!
[Picture] 11/22/2011   [11-1867]   Errol
DSH,  black,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: City of Helena
Errol is a warrior of a cat. After living on the streets Errol arrived at the shelter weary and exhausted. After eating some good food, drinking fresh water, and a good nights rest Errol started to show his noble personality. Errol likes being stroked and would make a noble companion to any person, canine, or feline.
[Picture] 11/19/2011   [11-1842]   Sweet Pea
DSH,  muted calico tabby,  Female spayed,  4 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Sweet Pea was turned in after she was shuffled around amongst family members. Sweet Pea almost looks like a ferret with her long torso and neck. Sweet Pea can be iffy about other cats but with time and the right situation I think she'd adapt just fine. Sweet Pea is kind of a goofy gal with a unique personality. She loves to be pet but she is constantly observing everything going on around her and won't be in your face consistently. She only scratches on a scratching post and uses her litter box here at the shelter regularly. Sweet Pea is looking for a quiet home where she can be independent and explore.
[Picture] 11/15/2011   [11-1825]   Adrian
DSH,  black/white,  Male neutered,  1 Yr
STRAY: Vallejo
The name Adrian has often been given to men of holy backgrounds such as Saints and several Popes. We gave Adrian his name because of his sweet pure of heart nature. Adrian wants nothing more than a family to call his own where he can receive lots of attention and give them all of his affection. Adrian is a delightful feline and gets along well with every four legged creature he encounters. Adrian would even like a kid to play with as long as they were over the age of 4. Out on PAWSability.
[Picture] 11/15/2011   [11-1819]   Capone
DLH,  brown tabby,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: Jenna St.
Maybe our Capone wasn't an American Gangster who led a Prohibition-era crime syndicate, he didn't make his name known by smuggling and bootlegging liquor, and he definitely didn't come from New York eventually making himself famous in Chicago. Our Capone was wandering the back streets of a neighborhood making deals with any feline that if they followed him he'd show them the wondrous world of freedom. Eventually the neighbors got sick of watching their cats disappear for long periods of time running amuck with this handsome boy and they turned him into the shelter. Capone was none too happy about his arrival and for a while he had this evil mastermind when it came to escaping his kennel. Hence the name Capone, our tough, huge and ornery tabby. Since his arrival Capone has mellowed out quite a bit but he needs a home where he is allowed his independence and can just marvel you with his humongous and handsome self. Capone is great with other felines and canines but because of his playful nature he might be a little too much spunk for kids. Capone looks like he is half cat, half bobcat and could thrive in the right situation.
[Picture] 11/10/2011   [11-1801]   Landon
DSH,  White w/ black,  Male neutered,  3 Yr
ABANDONED: L & C County
Landon was abandoned in a house by his former care-takers. He is mostly white with just a splash of black. Landon is a huge cat which could be why he doesn't like being held because arms would just squish him up past the point of comfort. Once Landon comes out of his shell he can make you a very nice companion. Landon is well-mannered and would probably do just fine with a very nice dog. Landon will be a perfect cat for a perfect family waiting to take home their forever friend.
[Picture] 11/10/2011   [11-1791]   Marty
DSH,  orange/white; declawed,  Male neutered,  1 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Marvelous Marty is a wonderful cat! He was turned in when his owner passed away and the son just couldn't take care of him. Marty didn't live with any other animals in his previous home but he has adjusted wonderfully to the other cats and I believe he would adjust to a mellow dog. Marty has never been around kids but has seemed to become quite fond of them while at the shelter. Marty is DECLAWED so he needs an indoor home only. Any family would be lucky to call Marty their new family member.
[Picture] 11/9/2011   [11-1789]   Basil
DSH,  Brown tabby/ white,  Female spayed,  1 Yr
STRAY: Boulder
Our sweet Basil may not be toxic to mosquito's, or added to a recipe to complete a dish, but she might just be the finishing touch to your family. Basil is as sweet as imaginable and absolutely great with other cats. Jewish folklore even suggests that Basil can be used to strengthen the weak. We agree nothing makes a bad day better than a snuggle with our Basil cat. She is a very beautiful and petite feline and would absolutely adjust to a home with kids over the age of three, another feline, or a gentle canine.
[Picture] 11/4/2011   [11-1766]   Sadie
DMH,  calico,  Female spayed,  1 Yr
STRAY: McHugh
Sadie lady is a very gentle soul. She gets nervous in busy situations and would do best in a quiet home with mature humans who are home most of the time. Sadie arrived at the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. She probably wandered outside and was unable to find her way home because she became nervous and was completely disoriented. Sadie is very sweet and loves being held and will love you as long as you treat her with respect. Sadie is fine with other cats but a dog or kids might be too overwhelming. Out on PAWSability.
[Picture] 11/2/2011   [11-1756]   Acorn
DLH,  orange,  Female spayed,  10 Mo
STRAY: Byron Rd.
Nothing is cuter than this fall colored feline, Acorn. She is absolutely gorgeous with her pumpkin colored fur and full harvest moon eyes. We named her Acorn because of her tiny frame but don't let that fool you, this kitty has a tough outer shell. One that she won't come out of until she is 100% sure you're a friend and not a threat. Acorn is very shy and would love a gentle quiet home to relax in and eventually fall in love with a human. Once Acorn begins to trust you she turns into a loving, playful ball of fuzz. Acorn needs a home with mature kids and a quieter environment. She is great with other cats and could possibly adjust to a very gentle older canine. If you have the patience to see what an absolute fem this kitty can be, I promise you won't be sorry by adding her to your family!
[Picture] 11/2/2011   [11-1752]   Isadora
DSH,  Torti,  Female spayed,  7 Yr
STRAY: 110 Edwards
Isadora resembles a beautiful, Egyptian goddess and boy does she act like one too. It’s Isadora's world and she lets us know it. Putting her god-like personality aside, Isadora can be very sweet and affectionate and loves to grace us with her presence. Especially when in front of a crowd she will flaunt her stuff. Isadora definitely likes her attention. Isadora would fit in nicely with a feline or canine companion.
[Picture] 10/28/2011   [11-1718]   Drago
DSH/Siamese,  lilac point; declawed,  Male neutered,  3 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: This unique handsome boy came in with his sister Bella because their owner was moving and couldn't take them with. He doesn't like to be held like his sister but he appreciates a good rubbin' every now and again. Drago is declawed so he will need an indoor home only. He is good with other felines, gentle canines, and mature kids. Updated as of January 5, 2012; Drago was failing to thrive at the shelter and so we sent him to live in foster care at Outside In. We're hoping Drago will do better in a less stressful environment where he will receive continuous one on one care. Since arriving at the shelter he has become extremely affectionate. He loves to be held and pet and has turned into quite a lover. If you're interested in meeting Drago call 442-1660 and we can set up a time. Out on PAWSability.
[Picture] 10/25/2011   [11-1699]   Rauch
DMH,  smokey grey/black,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: 10th Av.
Rauch looks like a smokey evening. His personality is very bashful and mysterious. He doesn't mind being pet but would prefer not being held. He has a peaceful demeanor but would appreciate if you move slowly so he can warm up to you. Rauch would do well in more of a quiet home with mature gentle adults to love him.
[Picture] 10/13/2011   [11-1452]   Dandelion
DMH,  calico,  Female spayed,  1 Yr
STRAY: L & C County
Dandelion is an absolute adorable tortoise shell feline. She loves attention and will wrap her paws around your neck in a wonderful feline hug. She'll even seal the deal with a big kiss on the chin. She came in as a stray and we were very surprised that she wasn't claimed because she is an absolute love. We think she'd be a wonderful addition to any home.
[Picture] 9/24/2011   [11-1352]   Mittens
DMH,  brown tabby with white,  Male neutered,  6 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Mr. Mittens to be specific! This handsome boy was turned in because his family was moving and they couldn't take him with. Mittens lived with two dogs and did really well. He is completely litter box trained and has lived as an indoor cat only. Mittens would do well with kids over the age of seven. Mittens is afraid of loud noises but is doing pretty well at the shelter. He is very loving and affectionate. In this cold weather doesn't everyone need a little Mittens? In foster care.
[Picture] 9/17/2011   [11-1314]   Noodles
DSH,  black,  Male neutered,  1 Yr
STRAY: Walnut St.
Noodles badoodles is an absolute goofball! This funny comedian of a kitty cracks us up with his silly antics. Noodles is a very nice cat and really likes kids. [Picture] 9/6/2011   [11-1256]   Amelia
DSH/Manx,  black,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
STRAY: Porter Street
Amelia is a very petite girl and we're not just talking about her lack of tail. This tiny thing came in with a litter of very young kittens and was extremely emaciated. We sent her and her kittens directly into foster care with her babies and her foster family had nothing but wonderful things to say about this mama kitty! Her big green eyes and her huge heart are the only big things about her! She is extremely affectionate and is the first one to swarm someones lap when they sit down in the Cat Room. Adoption fee sponsored. Out on PAWSability.

DSH,  black/white,  Female spayed,  2 Yr

Even in her picture she was meowing at us trying to get us to love on her! Annabelle is a very talkative girl and is sure to sweet talk her way into your heart! Adoption fee sponsored. Out on PAWSability.
[Picture] 8/25/2011   [11-1195]   Kita
DSH,  B. Tabby,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
STRAY: Shannon Ct.
Kita Senorita is an absolute love bug! Kita which means cat in Armenian arrived at the shelter with a gigantic belly! She was taken straight to the Vet because we were all convinced she had to be pregnant. The Vets examination shocked us all, she was not pregnant just extremely flab-u-lous in her middle section. Kita can be a little timid at first but if you give her the time to adjust she will show you just how genuine and loving she can be. Kita would do best in a home with mature children, felines and canines.
[Picture] 8/25/2011   [11-1194]   Luna
DLH,  grey,  Female spayed,  10 Yr
STRAY: 2480 Broadway Apartments
With her beautiful gold eyes and her silver fur how could you resist this fantastic feline? Luna is a little on the older side but don't let her age fool you. Luna has plenty of years left to keep your lap warm or lay in a window in the sun. Luna is very sweet and gets along peacefully with other felines. [Picture] 8/4/2011   [11-1082]   Alice
DMH,  grey,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
ABANDONED: Festival Rd.
Alice is simply one of a kind. Although she may not be in Wonderland our Alice is still very confused about why someone would ever abandon such a loving and wonderful feline. Alice loves attention and doesn't mind being held and cuddled. Alice could adjust to almost any family as long as she was given plenty of lovin' time. Alice is wonderful with all two legged and four legged friends. Out on PAWSability!
[Picture] 7/26/2011   [11-1018]   Boo (Bowie)
Persian X,  white,  Male neutered,  3 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Meet Boo! Boo was adopted from the shelter during our S.O.C-H.O.P sale in April but due to issues with the other feline in the home it's just not going to work out. His new parents are very upset about having to find Boo another home which is why they have decided to keep him in foster care until he finds his new fur-ever home. He loves affection from humans but isn't necessarily a lap cat. This handsome boy has gorgeous long white fur and one blue eye and one amber colored eye. He loves to play and has shown his foster family how intelligent he can be. He has even been okay wearing a harness and leash but would prefer to be allowed to explore on his own. He needs a home with no other felines and kids over the age of 8. His Foster family is more than willing to offer up more information per request to get Boo the awesome home this extraordinary feline deserves. If you are interested in Boo, please email or call the shelter so we can arrange a time for you to meet this handsome boy.
[Picture] 7/20/2011   [11-1002]   Puddin Head
DSH,  calico,  Female spayed,  8 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: Meet Puddin Head! Nothing is quite as a sweet as our Puddin' cat. Puddin' ended up at the shelter when her owner had a stroke and was forced to go to the hospital. She is a very gorgeous, flab-ulous, and outgoing feline. She could stand to lose a couple pounds and that would probably make her feel a lot better about being held. She loves to receive attention and she will chirp at you when she gets excited! It's absolutely adorable! She does fine with other felines, could adjust to a feline friendly canine, and or mature kids. Puddin' could be a delicious addition to any home.
[Picture] 5/27/2011   [11-0665]   Stanley
DMH,  grey/white,  Male neutered,  1 Yr
STRAY: Hwy. 12 E
Oh Stanley! Stanley is 11 pounds of loving, dignified hunk. He has gorgeous green eyes, likes lying on his back in your lap and accepting lots of belly rubs. Stanley has this dignified romantic vibe he puts off. He is very affectionate, smart, and handsome. The only quirk of Stanley's is his half tail. What he lacks in tail he makes up in a huge full heart. Stanley would be good with a mellow canine, other cats or a child over the toddler stage.
[Picture] 5/24/2011   [11-0638]   Mables
DMH,  black/smokey gray,  Female spayed,  9 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: After 9 years of growing up in one family since the time she was a kitten, Mables arrived at Lewis and Clark Humane Society because her family was moving. Mables is very aloof at the situation she was pushed into. When you first meet Mable you'll notice her big gray eyebrows and her striking smoky gray and black hair. She is very shy but given the time and patience she is an absolute sugar. Mables will curl up in your arms and let you stroke her for hours at a time perfectly content with just hanging out. She has lived with children but was a little overwhelmed so children would need to be over the age of 8. Mables would fit very nicely into a quiet, not active home, with a person that she could dote on. She does well with other felines and mellow dogs. In foster care. If you're interested let the shelter know and we can set up time to meet her. Out on PAWSability!

DSH,  black,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: L & C County
Meet Draven! Draven has very small feet and a very stout body and face making him look almost cartoon like! Draven has gorgeous emerald eyes and absolutely loves to chat with up anyone that will listen. Draven will even chatter to himself! This silly boy is very friendly an affectionate and refuses to let himself blend into the crowd of ash-colored cats at the shelter. Draven constantly puts a smile on our faces with his silly nature and wouldn't hesitate to have the same affect on you! Draven would be a great addition to any home as long as the canine is feline friendly. Out on PAWSability.

DSH,  black/white,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: Jefferson County
Haden is a big boy arriving at the shelter completely flab-u-lous. This handsome black and white boy with green eyes is a very friendly boy. He is very unsure of the shelter and is still extremely nervous but given time to adjust and come out of his shell, Haden could make an excellent companion as well as a friend to mature kids, felines, or a feline friendly canine.

DSH,  black/white,  Female spayed,  8 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: This lovely, full-figured gal is sure to keep you entertained for hours. Casey was turned in because she was too jealous of the baby! The only problem we see with that was that the baby should've been jealous of Casey! Casey is the leading lady or the star of the show and she won't let you forget it. (Well unless its her beauty sleep time, which happens often in this gals life.) If you have room in your home Casey will make a great addition to any family. Felines, feline friendly canines and kids are all welcome. 9/21 Update: Casey has been at the shelter for 7 months. She is starting to get depressed and is detaching herself from everyone at the shelter. Casey needs to go into a home asap. In the 7 months we can tell you she LOVES treats! Casey doesn't like to be held but will come to you and chatter if she hears a treat bag opening. Casey isn't a demanding cat, she just likes to lie in her spot and hang out. She is extremely independent and just needs someone to love her. If you or someone you know has the purr fect situation for this gal, please come give Casey a chance.
