4/28/2008 [08-0504] Tootie
Lab, black, Female spayed, 3 Yr
STRAY: Holiday Inn
Tootie is an absolute delight! She greets you with such enthusiasm and shows you her toy when you visit her kennel. The short time she has been at the shelter we have learned that she is truly willing to please you. She is housebroken, gets along with other dogs and cats. She especially loves to go for walks and is gentle on a leash. Tootie would make an outstanding family dog with kids of all ages!
4/23/2008 [08-0491] Niki
German Shorthaired Pointer, white with brown, Female spayed, 11 Mo

She is housebroken and would love an active family with older children because of her activity level. She gets along with other dogs but she does not do well with cats. She would excel in obedience, agility, flyball or hunting and field trials. Owners of pointers say they are fun at play and intense at work. They tend to try harder than many other breeds to please their owners.
4/23/2008 [08-Slick] Slick
Border Collie, black/white, Male neutered, Young Adult
OWNER TURN IN: Slick is a playful young adult weighing 45 pounds. Slick is submissive in nature and has nice dog manners but he also loves to cuddle with people. Slick can be shy and reserved at first but quickly warms up. He will need patience when introduced to new situations but most of the time he is independent and will play with other dogs. Slick is very athletic and can run like the wind so he might make a good agility dog. He will bark and run fences so he would have to be watched in a residence where this might annoy the neighbors. He stays in a five foot field fence. Good with older kids, housetrained, and is crate trained. He is fearful of riding in cars and will soil. A truck or SUV large enough to hold a crate would take care of this problem or patient training and building his confidence when riding in a car. Please contact Robin to see Slick at rlayt@bresnan.net or 465-4567.

He enjoys taking walks and he is very gentle on a leash despite of his size. He can sit and lay down when he is offered a treat and he will take the treat nicely from your hand. He is housebroken and he gets along with other dogs and cats. He would love a family with older children and a big fenced backyard to play ball.
1/3/2008 [08-0018] Reba
Shiba Inu, red, Female spayed, 1 Yr
ABANDONED:
Reba's owner left abruptly leaving her and another dog behind. Reba is a Shiba Inu which is a very unique breed but not a common breed in this area. The Shiba ia a native Japanese dog and they were moslty used to flush birds and small game and were occasionally used to hunt wild boar. They are bold, independent and headstrong. The Shiba is brimming with self-confidence. Reba is very beautiful and she resembles a fox with her features. It is strongly recommended to fully research this beautiful and unique breed before considering adoption. Our Reba certainly fits all of the qualities listed above. While she came in with another dog she has decided she prefers to be an only dog. She also can be quite the escape artist! A secure fence with entry and exit area is a must! Out on Pawsability.

Lab X, black, Male neutered, 1 Yr

Lab, yellow, Female, 8 Mo
STRAY:
Tizzy was left tied up at Town Pump. She was frightened and she struggled to free herself and ended up with some severe cuts on her right leg. She was treated by our vet and she has recovered nicely and is ready for a new home. Labs are popular family dogs because of their good temperament. They are exceptional around children and they generally like everyone. Tizzy would be great with an active family with older kids due to her exuberance. She would benefit with obedience training and exercise to expel her vast amount of energy. Tizzy is ready to make someone a new companion.
10/6/2007 [07-1489] Tank
Shepherd X, brown/tan, Male neutered, 1 Yr

8/27/2007 [07-1209] Bruin
Shepherd X, tan with black, Male neutered, 9 Mo
STRAY: Safeway
Bruin is a small shepherd weighing in about 35# and with his docked tail resembles a bear cub. He is a busy pup with a love for chew toys. He is currently working on walking on a leash without pulling, somtimes a challenge as there is so much to see and smell! He is looking for a home with older kids as he can be a bit rough in play, and a fenced back yard with all sorts of possibilities for exploring and playing. Bruin is not good with cats and sees them as furry toys to be destroyed! So a no cat household would be ideal for Bruin but certainly the companionship of another dog would be an option.
7/18/2007 [07-1044] Kodiak
Rottweiler X, black/tan, Male neutered, 2 Yr
STRAY: 3rd & Davis
Kodiak and Keller appeared to be traveling together as they were brought in from the same area. Kodiak is well mannered. He walk easily on a leash without pulling. He knows the commands of sit and shake and he is housebroken. He has a strong predatory drive with cats and he would be inclined to hurt them. 7/1/2007 [07-0923] Etoufee
Shepherd X, brown/white, Female spayed, 7 Mo
STRAY: Browning
Etoufee arrived with Muffuletta from the streets of Browning. She was extremely timid and fearful, after all, the only life she had ever known was living off the streets and getting handouts from the community. She is making great progress with the diligence of staff and volunteers. She still has a ways to go so will require an experienced owner that will provide consistency, patience and lots of opportunities for socialization. Went to foster care.
6/29/2007 [07-0901] Milo
Collie/Heeler, tan/white, Male neutered, 9 Mo

6/26/2007 [07-0884] Zoe
Pit Bull, red brindle with white, Female spayed, 3 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Zoe is a rambunctious energetic dog. She fell out of the back of a pickup earlier this year and injured her right back leg. A vet performed surgery on the leg but the former owner did not take care of Zoe properly and the leg was reinjured resulting in the amputation of her leg. You wouldn't know she had three legs with the ease she gets around. She loves to go on walks and play. Zoe will need a home with older children only, no small dogs or cats and owner experience with the pitt bull breed. A home check is required for Zoe. Out on Pawsability.
6/19/2007 [07-0835] Huss
Heeler X, black, Male neutered, 2 Yr
OWNER TURN IN: Huss has an abundant amount of energy and he can keep up with the best of them despite the fact that he's running on three legs. Huss lost his left back leg when he was left unattended on a chain and became tangled up in it thus injuring his leg. Huss is good with cats, birds, livestock and older more quiet kids. He will need to be introduced to a multi dog home as he can be choosy about other dogs. A meet and greet at the shelter with another dog will need to be done if he is to go into a multi dog home. He will need a fenced yard, but absolutely no chains for Huss!! Currently attending shelter dog obedience training.
