[Picture] 1/29/2012   [A026552]   Santana
DMH,  orange tiger,  Male neutered,  2 Yr
STRAY: Missoula Police Department
A luxurious orange coat, striking green eyes, and a loving personality -- it's hard to ask for more than that in a cat! If anyone asked Santana, however, he would request a real home with a family to love him.
[Picture] 1/29/2012   [A026450]   Ringo
DSH,  black/white,  Male neutered,  3 Yr
STRAY: 2300 blk Strand Ave, Missoula
Don't be misled by the terrified look on Ringo's face in his picture. That's the "old" Ringo, who was too scared to even peek out from under his blanket when he first got to the shelter. Now we have the "new and improved" Ringo, who still relaxes under the covers, but who will pop out for attention as soon as he hears anyone near his cage. He has the most interesting black and white coat we've ever seen, and we enjoy getting to look at it more frequently now. We also appreciate his energetic purr!
[Picture] 1/29/2012   [A026197]   Tessi
DLH,  black,  Female spayed,  Adult
STRAY: Maclay Bridge, Missoula
Tessi is a sweet, mellow lady who loves to be held and doesn't mind at all when someone wants to make her look even prettier by brushing her coat. Looking for a lap warmer? Tessi could fill that job with ease.
[Picture] 1/29/2012   [A025989]   Kramer
DSH,  Grey tiger,  Male neutered,  Older Adult
STRAY: Camp Loop Rd, Greenough
As his picture suggests, Kramer is an independent older fellow who doesn't take any guff off anybody! He's actually a sweet guy, but he isn't one to whine for attention or jump into anyone's lap. He's his own man, but he does enjoy adult company.
[Picture] 1/29/2012   [A025763]   Bristol
DSH,  Torti,  Female spayed,  5 Mo
STRAY: 5900 Lavoie Ln, Missoula
Bristol is a petite beauty who has spent most of her young life at the shelter. She was just a baby when someone found her, and since then she's grown into a lovely little lady. She's shy and sweet and loves other cats.
[Picture] 1/23/2012   [A026534]   Pepper
DMH,  Grey tiger,  Male neutered,  6 Mo
STRAY: 400 blk N. Davis, Missoula
Pepper and his sleeker sister Ginger are the perfect age to adopt -- old enough to be on the way to adulthood, but still full of fun like kittens. Pepper has a sweet face, with a personality to match, and he's definitely the more submissive of the two. Together or separately, these are kittens who are going to make great pets!
[Picture] 1/23/2012   [A026533]   Ginger
DSH,  Pale orange tiger,  Female spayed,  6 Mo
STRAY: 400 blk N. Davis, Missoula
This pretty lady and her flufflier brother are older kittens who are more than ready to start life over in a new home. They could be adopted either separately or together, which means we have the possibility of making either one or two families really happy! Ginger has interesting coloring and markings, and she's also a real sweetheart.
[Picture] 1/23/2012   [A026516]   Griz
Maine Coon,  Black/tan tiger,  Male neutered,  5 Yr
STRAY: 1800 blk S. 5th St. W., Missoula
We've had lots of happy cats come through the shelter, but none of them could smile the way Griz does! He has the sweet, mellow personality people expect in a Maine Coon, but it's a real bonus that he's also such a cheerful guy.
[Picture] 1/23/2012   [A026047]   Foss
DSH,  black/tan tiger & white,  Male neutered,  Adult
OWNER TURN IN: Foss is quite a handsome fellow, and he'd be fine in an adult household where he had some independence and was given some space to just be himself. Unfortunately, we adopted him into a home that included children who -- of course -- wanted to be able to play with their new cat. We won't make that mistake again; it needs to be an adult home only for Foss!
[Picture] 1/9/2012   [A026434]   Fred
DSH,  grey/white,  Male neutered,  Young Adult
ABANDONED:
We don't have much patience with people who leave pets behind when they move, and we had less than usual when we learned that the owner of this sweet boy had named him Fathead! We immediately changed that, of course, but we're still working on changing Fred from shy and uncertain about what to expect from people to happy and loving attention.
[Picture] 1/9/2012   [A026131]   Patton
DLH,  white with black,  Male neutered,  Adult
STRAY: 2800 blk S. 3d St. W., Missoula
Patton's two favorite activities are eating and then lounging around in the cat room until his next meal. (We have him on weight control food!) He's happy both alone or with other cats, and he even comes when he's called. He's truly a singular fellow!
[Picture] 1/9/2012   [A026115]   Miles
DMH,  grey/white,  Male neutered,  Older Adult
STRAY: 3600 blk S. 7th St. W, Missoula
Miles is an older fellow looking for a pleasant retirement home. His age has slowed him down a bit, but other than needing canned food because of having lost the majority of his molars, he certainly has no health problems. He loves attention and actually becomes quite lively when he hears the top being pulled off the cat food can!
[Picture] 1/9/2012   [A025801]   Savannah
DMH,  torti,  Female spayed,  Young Adult
STRAY: 1700 blk Cooley, Missoula
This petite lady has a small frame, but it's covered with a luxurious, soft coat. Her shy personality is quite endearing, and we know she'd enjoy living in a quiet home with gentle, loving people.
[Picture] 1/6/2012   [A025867]   Kiffin
DSH,  black/tan tiger,  Female spayed,  Adult
OWNER TURN IN: This is such a sad story: Kiffin's owner died, and we were told that no one else in the family wanted her. They didn't say that no one was able to take her in; they said no one WANTED her. No wonder she was shy and confused and unhappy when she first came to the shelter! She's a lovely lady who certainly deserves to be wanted, and we know she'd be grateful to any new family who did want to take her in.
[Picture] 1/6/2012   [A025491]   Ally
DMH,  buff,  Female spayed,  7 Mo
STRAY: Turah RV Park, east of Missoula
Ally started out life living under a travel trailer, and it must have made her one tough cookie. She's absolutely the healthiest resident our cat room has ever had! Upper respiratory infections pass through on a regular basis, and Ally has never had so much as a runny nose. She was terribly shy at first, but she's now decided that people are fun (and she always got along with other cats). We think she'd be a beautiful addition to any home.
[Picture] 12/8/2011   [A025975]   Jujubee
DSH,  orange tiger,  Female spayed,  6 yrs.
STRAY: Travois Village, Missoula
This quiet cat simply refuses to do anything to draw attention to herself, so we decided to give her the most attention-grabbing name we could find! She'd be a perfect companion for an older person who's looking for a gentle lap warmer that would never be any trouble.
[Picture] 11/19/2011   [A025845]   Dominique
DSH,  black/white,  Female spayed,  Adult
STRAY: 200 blk Minnesota, E Missoula
There are a lot of stray cats in this East Missoula neighborhood, but few of them are as elegant as Dominque. She's a real lady and deserves to have a family to keep her safe and happy. In return, she'd strive to be the best pet ever!
[Picture] 10/22/2011   [A025697]   Kinsey
Persian X,  grey tiger,  Female spayed,  Adult
STRAY: left on shelter porch
Kinsey is definitely a mixed breed, but that flat, round face and fluffy coat certainly seem Persian to us! We think that her combination of breeds has actually created a cat that is more attractive than many Persians, and her sweet personality is a great asset too.
[Picture] 10/3/2011   [A025090]   Rose
DMH,  black/tan tiger,  Female spayed,  2 Yr
STRAY: Mustang Ln, Frenchtown
This petite lady showed up as a stray, had been around for a while, and possibly even had a litter of kittens before someone finally brought her to the shelter. She was certainly a family pet as a youngster, because she likes people and enjoys getting attention from them. She may have colors and markings that are considered pretty ordinary, but we think of her as simply being pretty!
[Picture] 7/25/2011   [A024858]   Julia
DSH,  black/tan tiger; declawed,  Female spayed,  5 yrs.
OWNER TURN IN: We all know that moving is stressful, so it shouldn't have been a surprise that Julia showed one bit of bad behavior when her family did a complete relocation. One accident -- that's all! -- and her owner returned this sweet cat who had been a member of the family for several years! Now this declawed beauty is even more confused to find herself living in a cage in our cat room, and she'd certainly like to have a real home again (along with an owner who might cut her a little slack when she needs it). Update: Dani Sacks has sponsored Julia's adoption fee in honor of her mother, Jeanne Blackburn, at Christmas.
